Nouvelle Vague
I've previously posted video of this dance scene from Godard's Bande à Part, but I just came across it set to this song -
me in yoga class - my shoes don't do it either :)
{update: this seriously was me in yoga class tonight, and I thought of this video while our teacher took us through a routine inspired by this month's Yoga Journal magazine, culminating in the "Mermaid Pose" - I felt more like the drunken sailor, harhar}

random assortment
tiny YouTubes are my new favorite thing! Aren't they cute?
forgot all about this song til I heard it on the radio today
tiny Bryan Ferry still looks forever cool
not sure what the goofy animation is about, I just wanted to hear the song
"Only one way that you stay alive:
Keep working for your passion til you're 65!"

yup, it's still March
Woke up this morning and when I looked out the window this song popped into my head - the snow stole my sunshine!!! Made it a tiny little screen just for fun, but you can click over to YouTube if you want to see the video larger (there's a funny story about how they made the video too).
Days like this, I miss Florida in March.
I didn't get outside for a photo fast enough before the snow filled in the critter's footprints - but I'm sure this track was made by a fisher!!! I saw him out the window while I was sitting at the kitchen table, burrowing his way through fresh snow. He stopped to peak up and look around with the cutest little face - then scurried away down to the marshy area.

Woodie Guthrie's New Years Rulins
Though "New Years season" has passed, oncoming spring inspires the same impulse to reconsider & regroup

Scans of newly discovered old photos!
This was a little makeshift shed that my dad & grandfather used for storing yard & garden equipment. My sister & I transformed it into an awesome fort - I still remember the feel of lounging on brightly colored blankets draped over rusty metal grates and tools, with overgrown clumps of grass pushing through. When my dad realized this was our favorite place to hang out, he built us our own little playhouse - which now by coincidence has been converted to a storage shed for his yard stuff again!
So many of my favorite memories in these photos, including our dog Smokey and a yard full of dandelions... (and that was one of my absolute favorite shirts: a pullover with woven fuchsia fabric and a giant collar :)
