As I exited Mertensia Park, I almost missed this completely - the bright dots of color just caught the corner of my eye. Makes me smile to think that even local graffiti artists were inspired by the beauty of nature - depending on the season and time of day, I'm calling that a tree with autumn colors, or a Midsummer Night's fairy lights, or a sugarplum tree...

I love how when choosing from all the places to perch, a cat will decide on the special little piece of laundry that suddenly appeared, folded just that day -- they're always looking for a new texture to lay on.

Zeus - "Are You Gonna Waste My Time"

Diggin' it - sounds a bit like Paul McCartney & Wings; or Joe Walsh too

Can you guess what classic film this is...?
(Hint: that's James Mason in the mirror)

"Cisco Kid" - War

other people's realities

(being a voyeur)

While helping Tim at a job site on Keuka Lake, we happened to see this girl next door suddenly catch a fish!

She was so excited, she immediately ran down the dock with it...

My snapshots don't do justice to this eery sunset - the sun was a giant peach ball just above the horizon, blurred by oncoming sheets of heavy rain falling from an ominously dark cloud front that I was driving into (Rt. 54A along Keuka Lake and into Branchport)

blood root

Another woodland flower that only makes a brief appearance each spring -
so called because when you pick these delicate flowers or leaves, they bleed a distinctive orangey-red juice -

dog-toothed violets

Q discovering spring flowers in the woods behind his yard - my Grandma Torpey propagated these years ago...

sites we don't see very often:

Had to sneak as quietly as possible to steal this picture - normally Sparky is never allowed on furniture, but it was too cute to see him want to sleep in the guest room with G each night, especially when I caught him looking on protectively
