Nora Ephron quotes
“And then the dreams break into a million tiny pieces. The dream dies. Which leaves you with a choice: you can settle for reality, or you can go off, like a fool, and dream another dream.”
"Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim."
"Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim."
RIP Nora Ephron.

Peace, Love & Glitter
NYC Gay Pride Parade 2012
Cyndi Lauper was one of the Grand Marshalls!
Flaming Saddles Saloon from Hell's Kitchen, NYC = awesome dancers
and then there were, ummmm, these people:

starting the day with our first visit to Central Park - immediately we happened upon Strawberry Fields!
(minutes later a guy was berating people for stepping or sitting on the mosaic - oops, shame on me! I had followed what others did before me, but thinking about it I could see his point: he just wanted to preserve the memorial)
crazy green colored water! but we saw several painted turtles paddling around happily enough...
a site of much romance - this particular couple put on a show from one side of the lake to the other, making out like the world was about to end:

15 Things Charles and Ray Eames Teach Us
01. Keep good company
02. Notice the ordinary
03. Preserve the ephemeral
04. Design not for the elite but for the masses
05. Explain it to a child
06. Get lost in the content
07. Get to the heart of the matter
08. Never tolerate “O.K. anything.”
09. Remember your responsibility as a storyteller
10. Zoom out
11. Switch
12. Prototype it
13. Pun
14. Make design your life… and life, your design.
15. Leave something behind.

Saturday evening's experiments:
Again, approx. 10:00pm. Color tweaked in Photoshop. Odd brightness in parts of the yard is actually caused by light coming from our house, intensified by by the camera's long exposure

"Firefly, can you see me?
Shine on, glowing, brief and brightly...
Could you imagine? One summer day,
That same night be on your way!"
- excerpt from "Passenger" by the Grateful Dead (lyrics by Peter Monk, music by Phil Lesh)
