An old high school friend's father passed away recently, and on this Christmas Day a very nice article about him appeared in the Daily Messenger. At the end they included a quote from him that really struck me:

"Life is a gift ... The way you live your life is a gift to those who come after you. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or you can use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, it will be gone forever. Let your hopes and your dreams guide you ... The world needs to understand everyone’s hopes and dreams."
