this week's happy list

1. Honeycrisp apples are back at Joseph's Farm Market! My favorite apple!!!

2. A trip to the hair salon (lurrrve feeling my head massaged during shampoo ;)

3. Gutters installed on the barn dormers - woohoo! Maybe the flowers will have a better chance now - (Tim & his cousin Bryan)

4. Getting to see a "blue moon"! Full moons twice this August - seems fitting to happen during the month that Neil Armstrong left our world. The sky was so clear and the moon so bright that looking through binoculars with my naked eyes I could see craters! ..though when it first came up on Friday night, it was orange:

5. Wearing an old pair of sweatpants & sweatshirt from 20+ years ago - super soft with age... Sometimes those kinds of things catch you unexpectedly in how happy they make you feel.

Beatles - "Mr. Moonlight"

Many people think this is one of the worst Beatles songs ever recorded -
Hey, it's the Beatles singing about the moon: works for me.

a Chesire cat moon & my light where I be most days

the squirrels aren't keeping up with the walnuts this year, which makes our yard somewhat treacherous to walk across...

though I did see this little black squirrel getting busy (more of them are returning to the area!)

(crummy photo taken from inside upstairs second story of barn)

Doesn't Mr. Walnut Face (in the driveway) look like the Man in the Moon?

(not the greatest photos - of course they don't do justice to the brilliant, spooky full moon!)

better for a fall moon, but oh well it fits my theme:

and the video is mesmerizing all on it's own -
could probably watch it with several different soundtracks

sometimes the [lip?]synch is a little off on this video - still, awesome:

I finally made a tricky French connection...
...the moon'll send you on your way!
