Saw this gnarly little guy making his way alongside Maxfield Rd. one evening just before sunset:

This was probably just coincidence, but one day I found the chicks napping in 2 groups, each with one of each breed. The Buffs were notably larger from the beginning, and became sort of de-facto safe harbors for the others:

Fishing at the DEC boat launch leading into the West River. Uncle Tim & G caught one bullhead, but decided it wasn't enough to warrant the prep work, so they gave it to another family to add to their more successful haul further down the river. Visiting Krantz's Frog Lounge here in Naples. We popped in during off hours but the owner was very accommodating and happy to share his fascinating knowledge with our interested bunch.

My sister & her boys picked out these little ones for us: 2 Silver-laced Wyandotts, 2 Buff Orpingtons, and 2 Ameraucanas. They're so tiny still, you can see how easily they would fit into an egg.
